Our Story

CityReporter was born out of a simple question: How can municipalities do more with less while keeping their communities safe?

Our journey began when we saw first-hand the struggles that small towns and cities face when managing inspections, maintenance, and operations using outdated systems or paper-based processes. We knew there had to be a better way—so we set out to create it.

Starting with a passion for improving municipal efficiency, we partnered with inspectors, city managers, and risk management experts to build tools that are practical, powerful, and easy to use. What began as a local initiative quickly grew into a trusted solution used by communities across North America.

In February 2026, CityReporter joined Cloudpermit’s online platform for local governments, offering our customers even more software products, features, and workflows to transform their community development and public works processes.

Today, we remain committed to our roots: listening to our clients, adapting to their needs, and continually evolving our software to meet the ever-changing demands of municipal operations.
